Darlington’s Bike Stop on top Forme

Bike Stop on Skinnergate has bucked the trend of declining highstreets with a record breaking year of increasing sales which are already up 35% on last year’s trading.

The surge in sales is a result of the increasing variety of bikes which is now available in the store including the eco friendly Frome Peak Trail E-bike. It is now an official Forme dealer and the social enterprise continues to strive towards a cleaner high street by encouraging the upselling of unwanted bikes.

Forme E-Bikes are a much cleaner alternative to other forms of transport and also act as an aid for the elderly and individuals with disabilities who wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to cycle.

Rob Archer, Bike Shop Retail Manager said: “I’m extremely proud to be contributing towards a cleaner Darlington by introducing a range of bicycles available in our store that suit everyone’s needs.”

“Already sales are up 22% month on month, with May being a record breaking month for us on sales.”

Bike Stop opened in November 2012 on Skinnergate as a social enterprise and it is owned by First Stop Darlington. The Specialist cycle shop takes donated and pre-loved vintage and modern day bicycles and upcycles them ready for their next owner.

The technicians also provides a repair and service centre as well as hosts events for the local community such as bike rides for all ages and abilities.

If you’re interested in testing out the new FORME E-Bike, call into the Bike Stop on Skinnergate and Rob and his team will be keen to assist you on any further information you may require.
