Film makers aim for second short

Darlington-based PIMM Productions, an award winning TV, Film and Video Production Company has attracted a highly rated director for their next short film, The Dating Game.

Darlington film makersDonna Taylor, who has produced and directed various productions is currently showing her web documentary series Changing Lives, which looks at disadvantaged people and how they have turned their lives around.

Donna said, ‘I am incredibly honoured to be asked to direct The Dating Game. I am equally honoured to be working with the producers and creators, Paul Hodgson and Ian Carter who have worked tirelessly to make this happen’.

The film written by Paul Hodgson and Ian Carter is based around a speed dating scenario and is to be shot over one day at The Railway Tavern pub in Darlington and Ian’s home.

Producers, Ian and Paul have put together a really impressive cast including Sunderland based actress Julie Nicholson who got involved in acting at the age of ten and TV actor Dan Dobson, who recently appeared in the ITV detective television series ‘Vera’.

Ian explained, ‘We have used many of the cast from our last short film An Unfortunate Woman, which picked up two awards and it was screened at The Cannes Film Festival in 2015.

When people see the final edit I think they’ll love the story. Our aim has always been to get the film into the Virgin Media Short Film competition and we are confident this will happen due to the quality of the product’.

Filming will begin on 16th April and it will be released to the public after screening at several festivals.
